Call for Proposals – Summer Schools co-located with FedCSIS 2026
The Conference on Computer Science and Intelligence Systems (FedCSIS) conference series invites proposals to organize a Summer School, co-located and associated with the FedCSIS 2026 conference, which will take place in Riga, Latvia, on 23-26 August, 2026.
Submission Guidelines
Proposals should contain the following information:
- Summer School title
- Brief description of the school’s goals and topics to be covered (~1/2 page)
- A statement on how the school relates to the FedCSIS conference (~1/2 page)
- A description of: (1) the review process of applications, including proposed dates, (2) how conflicts of interest are handled, (3) inclusion & diversity criteria (including geography and gender balance) and (4) proposed ways of dealing with student accommodations
- Outline of the program
- Potential (or accepted) lecturers
- Publicity plans (~1/2 page)
- Funding plans and preliminary budget, including: (a) potential registration fees, plans for seeking sponsorship, etc.
- Historical information about previous editions (if applicable), including:
- Date, venue, and affiliated event (if any)
- Number of applicants
- Number of participants
- Fees and funding sources
- List of organizers
Additional Information
Proposals will be evaluated based on the educational merits and organizational and financial plans. Particular attention will be paid to: (i) topic(s) relation to the focal areas of FedCSIS conference series, (ii) scientific quality, (iii) organizational strength, (iv) evidence of interest (e.g., previous submission and attendance counts). Organizers will be required to take lead in announcing the event, managing applications, reviewing candidates, designing the program, and handling logistics (aligning it with FedCSIS 2026).
Note that: (a) it is understood that length of the Summer School is likely to be ~5 days; (b) Summer School participants will have access to selected activities of the FedCSIS conference (e.g. Keynote Lectures); (c) possibility of participation of FedCSIS Keynote Speakers as lecturers in the Summer School may be explored.
